Sophi Lawrence
Sophi Lawrence is the definition of fast-rising talent with serious follow-through. Hailing from Whistler, BC, she’s grown up immersed in one of the world’s most iconic mountain biking scenes, and she’s turned that local edge into national results. Still just 18, Sophi is already a regular name on podiums across Canada’s downhill circuit.
In 2023, she made her mark in a major way, taking the overall titles for both the Canada Cup and B.C. Cup series in Junior Women DH. She followed it up with a second-place finish at Canadian Nationals and earned her spot on Team Canada for the UCI MTB World Championships in Scotland, where she led the junior women with a strong 14th-place finish. Her performance proved she’s not just fast, she’s world-class!
But Sophi’s not just racing for herself. She’s a big sister to the next generation, training with, mentoring, and empowering the wave of U15 and U17 girls who are already smashing times. For her, it’s about more than medals, it’s about making space for girls to thrive in a sport that used to feel out of reach. And that’s exactly what she’s doing.
