DH9 MTB: Breaking the Rampage Curse
MBUK Magazine has officially named the Polygon Colossus DH9 MTB a Superbike. Recognizing the downhill mountain bike that helped Kurt Sorge secure his rare second Red Bull Rampage victory. Rampage is brutal on riders and machines, yet the DH9 proved it can survive, perform, and win at the highest level of freeride.
Engineered for Big Mountain Control
Designed as our flagship downhill MTB, the Colossus DH9 MTB blends freeride attitude with race-level precision. Built with an aluminum front triangle and reinforced rear end, it delivers stability at speed and confidence on massive features.
We upgraded the platform to 650b wheels for improved rollover and control, while refining suspension behavior for a smoother ride on rough terrain.
“We adjusted the leverage ratio of the twin-link rear end to make the bike more sensitive over small bumps and noticeably smoother,” says Polygon Development Manager Zendy Renan.
“Riders get more confidence at speed without losing the playful feel that freeride needs.”
Proven by Champions, From Rampage to World Cup
The same mountain bike platform is raced by Mick and Tracey Hannah on the Downhill World Cup circuit, a testament to durability, speed, and competitive performance. Sorge even runs stiffer 26-inch wheels for extra precision, showing how adaptable the DH9 MTB Bike is to different riding styles.
Combined with cutting-edge tire development from Schwalbe, the DH9 downhill mountain bike continues to evolve at the elite level of competition.
