We’ve spent the last week in Maribor, Slovenia for the first two World Cups of 2020! Yes 2 races in one week. The program was simple one day of practice followed by quali 1, race 1, quali 2, race 2. The track was super fast, rough and slippery.
Qualification 1 was done under the rain in cold, wet and slippery conditions. Tracey had a really good one and qualified fastest with a 5 second gap and grabbed the leader jersey. Mick and Joe had great qualis too with the 14th and 22nd best times.

After a good quali, Mick was looking forward to the race but unfortunately he had a mechanical issue after the start, it would have to be a 37th place for him

Tracey, couldn’t do the same run she had under the rain but still pushed and grabbed the bronze medal!

Round 2 was done on a slightly different track. The original track was modified at 4 different sections adding roots, tight turns and a big triple. Conditions were a bit more dry and tacky. Our riders struggled a bit for quali and it would be a 6th place for Tracey, 43rd for Mick and 49th for Joe.
The sun came out for the final and the track dried even more and still was a bit slimy. Wanting to find all the time lost on quali, the boys had good practice and sent a few features that they didn’t do for quali. Joe had a strong middle section and finished 29th, it’s good to see him in the top 30.

Mick had a clean run and finished 24th. Mick is getting closer to his goals and he is 22nd at the overall. He is looking forward to Lousa, a track that should suit his riding style.

Tracey had a safe race and grabbed the 5th place, her 2nd podium this week!

2 weeks of back to back racing and 3 races just ended. We now have 1 week off before Lousa, Portugal with 2 races as well. Our riders will take the week to rest and will be ready to attack and give it all in Lousa.
